Insadong is pretty much the tourist's place in Seoul, I guess nowhere else you can see so many western faces but surprisingly you will also find yourself in a huge crowd of koreans that seem to enjoy the many little shops and restaurants trying to lure some customers with the colorful display of typical korean tradional crafts. bags, pots, jewellery, you name it. If you try to find postcards you will become desperate everywhere else but finally you'll be able to find at least some here (also often it's another challenge finding some reasonable ones). Anyways this is still a nice area with many small streets off the main road which are worth to explore.
But beware: Insadong is due to its kind of romantic appearance a favored place for couples, but honestly this is another special seoul-phenomenon as couples have a whole different status, form of appearance and craze...
But Insadong is also home of one of the spots I like to visit sometimes: ssamzigil or rather ssamzi market. A three-floor building with many nice shops and cafes.

ah, love love love!!!
